Can you hear me now?
People are tweeting, friending, linking, pinning, and of course, blogging to stay connected to people, places, and causes that matter. We invite you to join the conversation as The Volunteer Voice becomes interactive!
The first The Volunteer Voice was published in spring 2001 to communicate with our volunteers and to promote our volunteer program. The launch was followed by 10 years of articles, photos and announcements. Through the publication, we celebrated our successes, mourned our losses, and shared OPRD news. The color, paper and publication schedule changed through the years, but our goals remained the same – we want to communicate with Oregon State Parks’ Volunteers and share with the public our many volunteer opportunities.
Now, we want to do it using your stories, questions and comments— we want to include your voice.
We look forward to another decade of sharing and celebrating through The Volunteer Voice. Subscribe to this newsletter so that you can receive updates, breaking news, and special invitations. Subscribe to The Volunteer Voice on the right side of this page.

Congratulations on your first issue!
Boy this good news. Justine and I were with the park system for approximately
seven years. From the Spring of 2003, wee were at Detroit Lake and from Jul
or Aug of 2009 thru 2010 we were at Cascadia. We decided not volunteer in 2011
because of the expoense of driving the 4500 to 5000 (Roundtrip) miles. Several
times last summer Justine or I commented ” I would like to volunteer one last time”
and we may just do that. We left several good friends at Detroit Lake and Cascadia
and would like to see them one more time.
We look forward to your possible return to volunteering as State Park Hosts. Detroit Lake and Cascadia State Park are beautiful!
