OPRD Volunteer Services

Volunteer Service is a crucial component of Oregon Parks and Recreation Department’s (OPRD) workforce. Public safety, visitor information, maintenance, and store sales are all measurably better because of their involvement. Volunteers extend the interpretive and educational programs in the parks. Their worth is not measured in just dollars and cents, which is significant, but in visitor satisfaction, and the pride and joy they give and receive.

OPRD engages over 5,000 volunteers annually.  It is with the donation of over 500,000 hours of volunteer service that OPRD is able to provide our customers with world class service and premier outdoor experiences.

Getting Involved

We have several established programs designed for those on-going or longer term volunteers as well opportunities for episodic, short term volunteers.  To learn all about the fantastic opportunities we have for YOU to get involved at OPRD, visit – the official website for OPRD Volunteer Services.
